An icon of modern cinema, Sofia Coppola’s films are being explored in rich and intimate detail by writer Hannah Strong, in her new book Sofia Coppola: Forever Young.

As fans of Sofia, and even bigger fans of our pal Hannah, we couldn’t resist adapting our classic Sofia t-shirt with a new look to celebrate this beautiful book. Taking inspiration from Coppola’s lush use of colour, as well as from the book’s back cover (designed by Tertia Nash), we’re in love with this version of the tee. Screen printed using the split fountain method, which dynamically creates a continuous range of hues transitioning from one colour to the other. Each print mixes the inks differently, meaning that every t-shirt is unique.

In addition to critical essays about Coppola's filmography, the book will include interviews with some of her closest collaborators, including musician Jean-Benoît Dunckel and costume designer Nancy Steiner, along with a foreword by Italian filmmaker Alice Rohrwacher. Along the way, readers meet again a cast of characters mired in the ennui of missed connections: loneliness, frustrated creativity, rebellious adolescence, and the double-edged knife of celebrity, all captured by the emotional, intimate power of the female gaze.
