Annemarie Jacir’s latest feature Palestine 36 examines the 1936 Palestinian revolt against British colonial rule, a turning point that set the course for the struggle that followed. A Palestinian-British-French co-production shot on location, the film is shortlisted for the 38th European Film Awards.
Known for award-winning work such as Wajib (36 international awards) and When I Saw You (Berlin International Film Festival’s NETPAC Critics Award), Jacir returns to a defining moment, insisting on remembering what has shaped the present.
