A rule-breaker and a truth-teller. Cheryl Dunye changed the landscape of cinema with The Watermelon Woman in 1996, becoming the first Black lesbian to direct a feature film. Armed with a camcorder and a mission, she created a space for Black queer women to exist on screen. Not only that, she invented a new form of cinema with her Dunyementaries, challenging social and cultural norms with her acerbic wit and reflexive lens. Today, she’s still shaping the culture, directing hit TV shows like Bridgerton and You whilst staying true to her uncompromising voice.
Made in collaboration with Jingletown Films - Dunye’s Oakland-based production company dedicated to uplifting storytellers too often left out of the frame - we are proud to present this new addition. Wear it loud. Wear it proud.

MANUFACTURE
Our t-shirts are made from 100% organic combed cotton, and the entire manufacturing process is controlled and certified in accordance with the latest version of the Global Organic Standard (GOTS).
100% of the manufacture’s production undergoes annual audits to comply with the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) Code of Labour Practices in accordance with the International Labour Organisation’s conventions.
They’re also produced in manufacturing facilities powered by green renewable energy, from low-impact raw materials.
